FocalPoint

FocalPoint High Performance Modular BioFiltration Systems incorporate a custom high flow engineered media with a modular underdrain system to provide stormwater treatment in combination with infiltration, detention and/or rainwater harvesting. FocalPoint is designed as a complete modular system. FocalPoint systems are designed to provide infiltration rates of 100-inches per hour and come with a post construction performance guarantee.

With an infiltration rate in excess of 100-inches per hour, FocalPoint provides the designer the flexibility to provide system footprints up to 20 times smaller as compared to a conventional biofiltration system.

FocalPoint gives the designer flexibility to free up valuable land or increase treatment in a given area to meet overall water quality targets.

How It Works

FocalPoint High Performance Modular Biofiltration System for filtration of stormwater and utilizes physical, chemical and biological mechanisms of a soil, plant and microbe complex to remove pollutants typically found in urban stormwater runoff. The modular treatment system in which biologically active biofiltration media, is used as a complete, integrated system designed to be placed in Square Foot or per Unit increments to treat contaminated runoff from impervious surfaces.

Configurations
  • FocalPoints modular underdrain system provides superior design flexibility over a simple perforated pipe. FocalPoint can have various design configurations including detention, infiltration and rainwater harvesting enabling overall water balance objectives to be met.

  • The system can be used in combination with traditional LID measures such as grassy swales or vegetated depressions. FocalPoint can be used in urban sidewalk planters and, due to its small footprint, enables the use of large trees in landscape design.
